Meet Michael

MichaelMichael Seamons has been involved in the IT industry for many years, working with several large Australian corporations before branching out and establishing Kimbilio Computing Services.

As a passionate computer and electronics hobbyist for more than 20 years, stretching back to the days of the Apple II and Commodore 64, through enthusiast adoption of dial-up bulletin board systems, to mainstream use of the internet and now widespread web applications and cloud computing, it's little wonder that Michael has built a career around information technology.

Between 1995 and 1998, Michael was employed by a major Australian corporate communications company, and coordinated and managed IT resources for a large regional team across Victoria and Tasmania, including planning and development of processes and strategies to best utilise Information Technology assets for increased business performance across the region.

In 1999, Michael led a national project team tasked with the testing and remediation of all laptop and desktop computers and applications for Year 2000 compliance within a major business unit of the same corporation.

From 1999, Michael managed the technology support and training requirements of senior executives, including the Chief Executives, Managing Directors and Board Members, of two of Australia’s largest corporate organisations (measured in both dollars and employees) within the telecommunications and banking sectors. Based in Melbourne, Michael not only provided one-on-one personalised support and technology consultancy to these business leaders, both in their offices and at their homes, he also was involved in evaluating new and upcoming products and services to assist his customers in working even more effectively.

Wise

During 2003, Michael took on a senior role within the team, where in addition to continuing to provide a high level of one-on-one support to the most senior executives supported by the team, Michael also was tasked with providing technical leadership to other specialists across the team nationally.

This involved further developing the team’s technical strategies, leading the development of server-based infrastructure and process automation technology to underpin the group’s activities and providing specialist technical input to IT security and risk management investigations.

Accredited as an ISO Internal Auditor, and holding ITIL Foundation qualifications in IT Service Management, Michael was also instrumental in the team gaining quality accreditation under ISO-9001, as well as promoting the development and adoption of ITIL best practices within the team.

Naturally in such high-level roles, in addition to technical skills, exceptional customer service delivery was a key element. Throughout these roles, Michael built up a high level of expertise in IT problem solving across a diverse range of technologies including desktops, laptops, network servers and infrastructure including wireless technologies, and the interworking of handheld and mobile devices with office applications.

ExperienceThrough the course of 2007, Michael established Kimbilio Computing Services in the north-central region of Victoria, with the aim of providing that same level of experienced and personalised support to a regional area.

In 2009, following a move to Tooraweenah, Michael began offering IT services to customers within the surrounding areas, and in early 2010, Michael took up residence within the Gilgandra township.

Michael is now offering to homes, farms and businesses within the Gilgandra region that same high level of technology experience and expertise that he provided to Australia’s corporate businesses, coupled with a deep understanding of the business and personal needs that drive technology adoption.
